About Me

I’m a maker, a creator. If I was a cat, curiosity would have killed me by now. I love knowing how things work. If I can’t figure something out, I teach myself, watch videos, read tutorials or ask people I know might have the answer.

While there are times I may still be afraid to take a risk, more times than not I just jump in with both feet and figure it out as I go.

I’ve always been a creative. As a kid, I remember writing music on my brother’s Mac by adding notes one by one and dragging them up and down the scale so that I could write music I could never play on the keyboard. Jump ahead to Christmas 2022 and I released my first instrumental Christmas ep filled with music that I created mostly by dragging notes up and down on a scale to create things I could never play myself.

While working toward my Bachelor’s in Music at Belmont University, I was creating cassette covers and recital posters for fellow students using my Mac and a printer. Then I started working on CD covers and other music related designs.

After finishing college, I worked in a small copy shop as a delivery guy. Then I worked in a bindery, running collators and delivering orders. Eventually I ended up at a Kinko’s taking orders and running small copy jobs until I moved into the Desktop Publishing area and learned the trick to OCR scanning resumes clients brought in to save time typing them. I even pushed to get QuarkXPress in our store to replace PageMaker and they finally got it for us.

Eventually, I got a job as a graphic designer and prepress guy at a local 4 color print shop where I cut my teeth on flyers, posters, brochures, business cards and everything in between. We even ran our own Lino film printer. Toward the end of my time there my boss was hiring me out to fix Macs at other print shops and I saw an opportunity.

I moved back home to Ohio and started my own Apple Consulting business, which I ran for over 10 years as well as side gig building websites with a tool called Joomla! I eventually landed a job doing web full time and really honed my web skills (though I don’t profess to be a coder).

Over time though, my love for print and design won out and I ended up taking a full time job back in Nashville, TN doing print as well as video, digital, animation and a load of other things.

My love of music has never left though, and I’m currently working on a full length instrumental album I hope to finally release in 2024.
